Today we are reminded to look for Jesus at work among those who are poor in sprit, those who mourn, the meek, those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, the merciful, peacemakers, the pure in heart, the persecuted, the poor, the hungry and those who weep; lifting up the lowly and bringing down the mighty.
We learn today that there is hope that we can put the things to death in this life that would cause us to sin. We embrace the power of the Holy Spirit that can put sin to death. There is redemption, hope and truth present here.
Today we see Jesus’s example in taking the lowest positions, showing hospitality to the most needy and vulnerable among us. When we follow in this new way of discipleship, competitive dynamics break down and we come to serve others and lift them up.
Today we learn that our well being and that of our neighbor is more interconnected than we realize. We are called to forgive, to love, to share with one another giving ourselves over wholly to the way of Christ.
