Thank you for your continued support of Living Water Church of the Nazarene! Please pray for us as we continue to move forward with the vision that God has for us in East Village. We have some good news to share this week!
Good news on meeting space!!!
We have great news – we have signed a lease on a place to meet! 403 13th St (entrance on J St), San Diego, CA 92101. It’s a portion of an old warehouse that will be ours 24/7 until at least October of 2017. It’s about 1200 square feet with a shared bathroom (sharing with a
sign company). It is less
than a block away from the park where we’ve been meeting, in a great location for our needs. It has been a long, stressful, roller-coaster journey to find a place to meet, and we are
praising God that we have found a place! Our lease begins on Monday, June 6th. On Sunday, June 12th, we will begin our service as usual at Fault Line Park, and part way through, we’ll walk over to our new building. Come and join us!
Even better news
Despite two location changes (soon to be three), meeting in a very chaotic park, and doing no advertising whatsoever, our church has been growing and beginning new ministries. We had 45 people in attendance last week (despite the absence of over half of our plant team), and we have started our small group ministry this week. In just two months, we have developed a consistent group beyond our church plant team, and we continue to have new folks every week. We are working to get our people signed up for the new small groups, and we have done a good job of inviting them to join in the work of preparing and participating in our services. And Vincent, our youngest church plant team member, led music worship for the first time at our service a couple of weeks ago. God is moving in East Village!
Good news on the airwaves as well
We have been named the “Church of the Week” on “The David Spoon Experience” on 1210AM KPRZ this week. I have been invited to come in for a live interview tomorrow afternoon (June 3rd) at 3pm. They claim to have 30-40,000 listeners, and David says that over 20% of them do not currently attend church, which he is hoping to change. I have no idea what to expect, but tune in to see how it goes
Needs list
Our needs list continues to shrink. PLNU has generously given us a printer, saving our previous printer from almost certainly being smashed into tiny bits with a baseball bat by a frustrated pastor. The Yoder family, from Gateway Church in Murrieta, has offered us a projector screen, and Mt. Carmel Church of the Nazarene just offered us XLR cords, microphones, mic stands, and a pulpit. We do still have several needs on our list, so please check it out and let us know if you have anything that might help us. We also need to begin paying for our new lease, so please feel free to contribute financially as well (easy to do online at livingwaternazarene.com/donations). We have some big dreams in our church, and we trust that God will provide whatever we need to fulfill our calling in the community.
