Deron grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and graduated from Olivet Nazarene University. He moved to San Diego to further his studies at Point Loma Nazarene University. He was ordained on the Southern California District and has served in churches in Washington, DC and San Diego. He has a passion for serving God in Urban contexts. His free time is spent watching baseball and fixing things with the hopes of inventing something one day.
